Keep Athens Singing!

The Georgia Children’s Chorus was created for youth who desire to pursue excellence in vocal and choral training. The GCC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, under the direction of Artistic Director Erin Towe.  The active Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders, music professionals, and parents, work to guide and support the organization. GCC currently serves children from 33 public, independent and home schools representing eleven counties. It is the goal of the GCC to make the chorus accessible to every child in Northeast Georgia, regardless of race or economic status. Grants, tuition fees, ticket sales, special events and contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations support the GCC. Tuition assistance is available, made possible with the generous and sustained support of donors who share the goal of enriching the lives of children and youth through choral music.

In its 25 years, the Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC) is one of the premier choral groups in the South. Please help us continue providing this excellent opportunity for our children and community. The Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC), in residence at the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides the children of Athens and Northeast Georgia with excellent choral training and performance opportunitiesNot only do the children of GCC develop a lifelong love of music, but Athens and surrounding communities experience the wonder and joy of music as shared by children.  Come to a performance—and you will be hooked! Although the University of Georgia offers the chorus in-kind benefits, it does not receive direct monetary funding from UGA. It depends on the generosity of people like you to maintain and expand the Georgia Children’s Chorus. Please share in our song and consider supporting the Georgia Children’s Chorus through individual giving:

- A gift of $2500 will support two weeks of staff/professional time to teach, accompany, lead, and support

- A gift of $1250 will support one week of staff/professional time to teach, accompany, lead, and support

- A gift of $250 will support a singer's tuition in choir for half of the year/season
