The Georgia Children’s Chorus was created for youth pursuing excellence in vocal and choral training. The GCC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under the direction of the Artistic Director. The active Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders, music professionals, and parents, works to guide and support the organization. GCC serves children from 33 public, independent, and home schools representing eleven counties. It is the goal of the GCC to make the chorus accessible to every child in Northeast Georgia, regardless of race or economic status. Grants, tuition fees, ticket sales, special events, and contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations support the GCC. Tuition assistance is available and made possible with the generous and sustained support of donors who share the goal of enriching the lives of children and youth through choral music.
In its 25 years, the Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC) is one of the premier choral groups in the South. Please help us continue providing this excellent opportunity for our children and community. The Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC), in residence at the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides the children of Athens and Northeast Georgia with excellent choral training and performance opportunities. Not only do the children of GCC develop a lifelong love of music, but Athens and surrounding communities also experience the wonder and joy of music as children share. Come to a performance—and you will be hooked! Although the University of Georgia offers the chorus in-kind benefits, it does not receive direct monetary funding from UGA. It depends on the generosity of people like you to maintain and expand the Georgia Children’s Chorus.
A gift of any amount helps us bring music into children's hearts, and they share it with others. Support GCC and invest in tomorrow’s leaders today! Please feel free to contact GCC if you have any questions.
